Description

The sprouts spinach tikkis are made from spinach, sprouts and sweet potato. Though they resemble the popular Hara Bhara kebab, but differs in taste and much nutritious as well. You can enjoy these tikkis guilt-free as these are shallow fried and much less in calories and high on protein!


Ingredients

Scale
  1. cup mixed sprouts (moong, moth, or any other)
  2. 1 cup spinach, finely chopped
  3. 1/2 boiled  sweet potato, mashed
  4. 2 tbsp gram flour (besan) or breadcrumbs
  5. 1 green chili, finely chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  9. 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  12. 12 tbsp oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Grind the Sprouts: Lightly grind the mixed sprouts in a blender without adding water. Do not make a paste; keep it slightly coarse.
  2. Prepare the Mixture: In a bowl, mix the ground sprouts, chopped spinach, mashed sweet potato, gram flour, green chili, ginger-garlic paste, and all the spices. Add lemon juice and salt. Mix well to form a dough-like mixture.
  3. Shape the Tikkis: Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into flat round tikkis.
  4. Cook the Tikkis: Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis on medium heat until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or yogurt dip.

Notes

  1. Can make them oil free via air frying or baking.
  2. Can use other green leafy vegetables like methi leaves, kale.
