Description

Oats Mung Dal Tikki is a light, nutritious and easy-to-digest snack made with rolled oats, soaked mung dal, fresh vegetables and minimal oil. It is rich in plant-based protein, soluble fibre and essential minerals, making it ideal for weight loss, diabetes control and improving digestion. This tikki keeps you full for longer, supports gut health and works perfectly as a healthy breakfast, evening snack or lunchbox option.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup rolled oats (powdered)

  • ½ cup yellow mung dal (soaked 23 hours and ground)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small carrot, grated

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves

  • 1 green chilli (optional)

  • ½ tsp cumin powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp oil


Instructions

  • Soak mung dal for 2–3 hours and grind into a smooth batter.

  • Dry roast the oats lightly and grind into coarse powder.

  • Mix the dal batter, oats powder, vegetables, spices and salt.

  • Shape small tikkis and place them on a hot non-stick tawa.

  • Drizzle a few drops of oil and cook on both sides till golden brown.

  • Serve hot with mint chutney or a bowl of curd.
