Description
Healthy Pizza Bites are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional pizza, ideal for a snack or appetizer. These mini treats capture the classic pizza flavours with far fewer calories.
Ingredients
- 1 large zucchini
 - 60 grams crumbled feta cheese
 - 1 teaspoon olive oil
 - 100 ml tomato sauce (tomatoes cooked and mashed into a paste)
 - 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
 - 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
 - Salt and pepper to taste
 - Fresh basil leaves for garnish
 
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Arrange the zucchini rounds on the tray, brush both sides with olive oil, and lightly season with salt and pepper.
Bake the zucchini for 5-7 minutes until they soften slightly but remain firm enough for toppings. Take them out of the oven and spread a thin layer of natural tomato sauce on each slice. Sprinkle with a pinch of dried oregano, basil, and garlic powder for flavor.
Top each slice with crumbled feta cheese and return them to the oven. Bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese melts slightly and the zucchini edges turn golden.
For a final touch, add fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve these warm, healthy Zucchini Pizza Bites as a tasty snack or appetizer.
