Suji Cheela is a quick and healthy Indian pancake made with semolina (suji), yogurt, and spices. It is a savory dish that is crispy on the outside and soft inside. - 1 cup semolina (suji)
- ½ cup curd (yogurt)
- ½ cup water (adjust as needed)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small carrot, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon ghee for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix semolina, curd, and water to form a smooth batter. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Add chopped onions, carrot, ginger, green chili, cumin seeds, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.
- Heat a non-stick pan, drizzle some olive oil or ghee, and pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan.
- Spread it evenly and cook on medium flame until golden brown.
- Flip and cook the other side for a couple of minutes.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or curd.
