Description

A wholesome twist on the traditional phirni, this Oats Phirni is creamy, naturally sweetened, and rich in fiber. Replacing rice with oats makes it more filling and helps support steadier blood sugar levels. It’s a perfect festive dessert or healthy snack for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. ½ cup rolled oats
  2. 2 cups low-fat milk (or unsweetened almond milk)
  3.  2 chopped dates or 1 spoon of monk sugar
  4. ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  5. A pinch of saffron
  6. 1 tsp chopped pistachios
  7. 1 tsp chopped almonds
  8. 1 tsp chia seeds or flaxseed powder

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the rolled oats for 2-3 minutes until aromatic. Cool and grind into a coarse powder.
  2. Bring the milk to a gentle boil.
  3. Add the ground rolled oats and cook on low heat for 6-8 minutes, stirring continuously until thick and creamy.
  4. Switch off the heat and allow it to cool slightly before mixing in the monk fruit. If using dates, blend them with a little warm milk and stir into the phirni.
  5. Add cardamom powder and saffron.
  6. Garnish with pistachios, almonds, and chia seeds.
  7. Chill for 1-2 hours or enjoy warm

Notes

1. Can add fruits like apple, mango or berries of your choice
